    Facilities Technician - CLARE

    We are currently recruiting Facilities Technician with long established multinational Clare based manufacturing company.    Reporting to the Facilities, Health & Safety Manager, position will be offered as permanent full time position with very attractive package for the right candidate.

    Job Description

    Main Duties & Responsibilities

    • Ensure all facilities equipment scheduled maintenance is performed in a timely manner.
    • Implement a scheduled maintenance system for the entire plant. Maintain all documentation related to plant and equipment.
    • Respond to plant failures outside normal operational hours and provide remote assistance where appropriate.
    • Provide accurate reporting as necessary, including weekly report data and the use of excel/word documents.
    • Identify opportunities for improvements and efficiencies.
    • Ensure that all work is carried out in accordance with the company’s quality management system, safety standards, health and safety legislation and relevant environmental standards.
    • Manage and support external contractors in the areas of facilities, and electrical installation, HVAC, plumbing, building etc to ensure work is completed in a compliant manner.
    • Schedule electrical based tests such as PAT testing, emergency lighting tests, generator tests and RCB tests.
    • Assist in the procurement of vendors and services as required.
    • Assist in financial processes to ensure that all financial management requirements are completed in a timely and accurate manner.
    • Plan and execute all annual shutdown plans for the facility and organise maintenance projects as required.
    • Build effective relationships with employees, supervisor and managers and relevant external bodies to ensure a safe and healthy work environment.
    • Promote and drive energy saving projects.
    • Ensure all documentation and procedures are up to date and compliant with all legal requirements and ISO14000 environmental standards.
    • Be a member of the Chemical Spill Team & Emergency Response Team – Training will be provided for these roles on site.
    • Upgrade, develop and maintain facilities plant and equipment required for the efficient running of a small/medium sized semiconductor manufacturing {assembly, test and burn-in} operation.
    • Develop and schedule all preventive and corrective maintenance activities to ensure minimum equipment downtime. Support the manufacturing process through the integration of new equipment, layout, environmental control etc.
    • Ensure a safe working environment for all employees.
    • Cover Shut down requirements
    • Support any Lean, 5S, and EHS initiatives in Facilities and other departments as required.
    • Assist with Health and Safety initiatives and programmes as requested by Health and Safety Manager.
    • Perform other duties or tasks as assigned or required from time to time.
    • Demonstrate and adhere to company values.

    Job Requirements

    Qualifications

    • Diploma/Degree in a technical discipline (Mechanical engineering, Electrical engineering or Building services is preferred but other disciplines may be considered.)

    Essential Skills / Attributes

    • Flexible approach to work with ability to work well in a team and outside main working hours in some circumstances
    • Strong attention to detail, problem solving skills and ability to multitask.
    • Strong communication skills – both written and verbal.
    • Ability to deliver clear and concise messages and identify mutually agreeable solutions.
    • Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
    • Good PC skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office packages.
    • The candidate should be self-motivated and eager to learn new skills, they need to be flexible, excellent team player and demonstrate company values.
    • Fluent English both written and spoken

    Desirable Experience

    • Knowledge of chemicals and nitrogen systems.
    • Knowledge of Energy Conservation.
    • Working knowledge of MS Office software and CAD.
    • Experience in Lean/Continuous Improvement projects.
