Group Training Officer

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Group Training Officer within the tourism/hospitality sector, based in County Clare.
Reporting to the Group HR Manager, the Group Training Officer will collaborate closely with Senior Management and Business Unit Managers. The role will be responsible for supporting HR teams and Area Head of Operations, and will oversee the implementation and administration of a robust training framework. The Group Training Officer will introduce and foster a culture of training, and act as a change catalyst for organisational learning and development.
Main duties of the Group Training Officer include:
Develop and implement a learning strategy and program that are aligned to organisational objectives.
Gain a thorough understanding of the various specific training requirements.
Fully embrace and implement various types of training including the winter/spring training, induction plan, statutory training.
Work closely with third party training providers, build and maintain relationships and negotiate service contracts.
Design and produce training material, including e learning courses.
Develop a training library for unique to specific sites.
Work closely with the HR teams throughout the region and manage the development of the team from a training perspective.
Work closing with line managers throughout the organisation to ensure that training plans are completed including statutory training.
Ensure that the highest standards of training documentation are maintained for all Sites.
Act as the principle point of contact for anyone with questions about training and development.
Stay up to date on the latest developments in learning needs, changes in training practices and developments in technology.
Establish and maintain a prominent level of visibility and involvement on the various sites and in local business, social communities as appropriate.
Establish and maintain effective employee relations including open communication with all employees.
Deliver on specific projects that may be assigned from time to time.
Support and work in conjunction with the Group HR Manager and with other teams to ensure best practice throughout all operations.
Participate in outreach activities to support the organisation as required.
Deputise for Group HR Manager as required.
Required qualifications and experience:
Proven track record in HR / Training management with at least 3 years management experience
A Diploma / Degree in a similar or related discipline in tourism / visitor management, education, business.
HR Management & Training and Development qualification is required
Experience in employee learning and learning technologies
Experience in designing training material including e learning courses
Good knowledge of e learning platforms
Good knowledge of a Health & Safety System
Flexibility and a strong problem-solving approach to issues
Experience of managing people in a small to medium size enterprise
Ability to demonstrate a high level of teamwork & motivation skills
Proven organisational skills & experience in multi-tasking
A commitment to excellence, continual innovation & world class service delivery
Ability to enforce organisations standards, policies and procedures with Employees
A strategic approach to the operation, be open to change and have excellent interpersonal skills
The post will be operational on seven days a week basis according to business requirements, hours of operation vary seasonally
The successful candidate is required to have a current full class B drivers’ licence and access to own car.
