We currently have an immediate opportunity for a Mechanical Maintenance Technician with long established medical devices Limerick based multinational client. Position will be offered as full time permanent opportunity reporting to Facilities & Maintenance Manager, with very attractive package and career prospect for the right candidate.
Job Summary:
The main function of this role is to support manufacturing with the upkeep and safe operation of process equipment and facilities.
Responsibilities:
- Makes identifiable and substantial contributions to continuous improvement. Performs all duties consistent with established guidelines consistent with ISO-9001, ISO-13485, ISO-14001 and ISO-18001 and all elements deemed necessary to support our business (as outlined in the Quality Manual). Actively complies with and endorses Department and Company objectives.
- Maintain all process equipment technical and non-technical in good operational condition for manufacturing.
- Maintain all facilities and control environments technical and non-technical in good operational condition for manufacturing.
- To respond to reactive maintenance tasks such as;
- Equipment failure with investigation, diagnostic evaluation, repair and improvements.
- Be part of a 24-hours rotating call out team. (Not Exhaustive)
- First line Maintenance of both manufacturing, facility and service equipment.
- Carry out on time preventative maintenance task on all equipment.
- Carry out both critical and non-critical calibration of equipment.
- Host, support and supervise external service contractor works during regular servicing and calibration.
- Maintain good records for all equipment in compliance with the quality management system.
- Take responsibility of maintaining the integrity of the workplace environment whilst carrying out the above tasks.
- Make sure that correct procedures are in place and followed if any work being carried out exceeds the local work area requirements.
- Develop and install engineering improvements to manufacturing and facility service equipment.
- Install and commission or assist with vendors in the same of new equipment.
Job Specifications:
- Trade qualification in either electrical or mechanical engineering at craft level or higher required.
- Experience in maintaining and troubleshooting automated machinery and equipment.
- Experience with facility services such as AHUs, Chillers, Burners, Boilers, Compressors and Thermal Oxidizers.
- AC/DC motor experience. Motor replacement, VSDs, and motor control.
- Ability to display a good working knowledge of electrical/mechanical/pneumatic and heating systems.
- Experience and maintenance-level training with programmable controllers and HMIs.
- Read and understand ladder logic and function block programming.
- Ability to interpret Electrical/mechanical/pneumatic drawings and schematics. Computer literate and diligent record keeping.
- Ability to work on their own initiative and take responsibility for decision-making.
- Enthusiastic, energetic and self-motivated with ability to work with cross functional teams.
- General household maintenance tasks around facility. (Electrics, plumbing, repairs housekeeping)
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Impeccable housekeeping of workplace, workshop, equipment and service rooms.
- Mentor and supervise apprentice with high degree of integrity.
Desirable / Not Essential:
- Welding.
- Good level of Electrical ability. (Minor works, Like for like replacements)
- Experience in ATEX environments.
- Cleanroom experience.
