We have an open role for a Mechanical Fitter with a client in Shannon. This is a new role that involves time in the workshop and on site visits to customer locations.
This role requires a self starter with the ability to work on their own initiative. The ideal candidate should have experience in assembly, installation and maintenance of production equipment, Good knowledge of engineering drawings.
Key responsibilities and tasks:
Assembly and installation of mechanical components such as motors, valves, filters, according to specifications and safety standards.
Manufacture and install machine safety guarding and enclosures.
Machine installation and retrofitting.
Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on mechanical systems to identify issues.
Diagnose mechanical problems, troubleshoot malfunctions, and implement effective repair solutions.
Operate a variety of hand and power tools safely and efficiently.
Collaborate with the Engineering departments to ensure the timely completion of maintenance tasks and minimize production downtime.
Adhere to health and safety guidelines and maintain a clean and safe working environment.
Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, including work performed, parts used, and equipment logs.
Required qualifications, skills, and experience:
Qualification of fitter/toolmaker preferable.
Good attitude towards work.
Experience as a Mechanical Fitter in a regulated manufacturing environment
Strong mechanical aptitude and knowledge of mechanical systems.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and create hand sketches.
Proficiency in using hand and power tools.
Problem-solving skills and ability to diagnose mechanical issues effectively.
Attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Solid understanding of health and safety protocols.
Effective communication skills.
