Responsibilities and Tasks:
As an NPI Engineer, you'll be entrusted with a range of crucial tasks including:
Project Management:
- Crafting comprehensive Project Plans for NPI projects, encompassing scope, budget, and schedules.
- Building and managing project teams, ensuring optimal resource allocation.
- Tracking project progress against plans and driving activities to meet goals.
- Conducting regular project reviews to keep stakeholders informed and updated.
- Maintaining thorough documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
Product Development - Obtaining Repair Approval:
- Selecting the most suitable technology and process equipment for repairs.
- Validating proposed repairs to ensure they meet cost constraints.
- Detailing repair steps and conducting necessary trials/experiments for validation.
- Defining tooling and fixture specifications, collaborating with design engineers for cost-effective solutions.
- Executing engineering trials/experiments to verify processes.
- Preparing Technical Plans (TP) and Repair Source Substantiation (RSS) documentation for repair substantiation.
- Liaising with OEM or EASA DOA for timely approvals.
Product Introduction:
- Identifying upfront requirements for all stakeholders involved.
- Procuring necessary equipment for product introduction in line with company procedures.
- Providing timely product information to support commercial launch.
- Conducting final project reviews with Operations/Quality/EH&S for smooth handover to production.
- Monitoring product cost/profitability for the first 6 months of production to ensure target costs are met.
Education and Requirements:
- Degree in Materials or Mechanical Engineering preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in an engineering role.
- Ability to comprehend complex processes involving multiple disciplines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Confident and effective decision-maker.
- Methodical approach, with expertise in Lean/6 Sigma methodologies.
- Excellent presentation and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proven track record of problem-solving in intricate environments.
- Essential experience in coordinating and overseeing project activities.
- Meticulous attention to detail and proficiency in documenting processes.
