We are currently recruiting on behalf of a leading pharmaceutical company based in Shannon, Co. Clare, for the position of Production Technician. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a dynamic team and play a vital role in ensuring the efficient operation and maintenance of production and packaging equipment in a regulated, high-performance environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Equipment Maintenance: Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair production equipment, including printers, barcode readers, conveyors, label applicators, glue machines, and automated packaging machines.
• Calibration & Setup: Perform calibration and changeovers for weight checkers and print/apply machines (e.g., Zebra ZT410/ZE500). Ensure equipment is optimized for different pack sizes.
• Preventative Maintenance: Implement daily, weekly, and monthly preventative maintenance programs to minimize downtime and maximize efficiency.
• Performance Analysis: Analyze downtime, report findings, and continuously improve machine uptime and line efficiency.
• Risk & Compliance: Conduct risk assessments and ensure compliance with ISO 13485-2016, GMP, and GDP standards.
• Repairs & Stock Control: Perform electro-mechanical repairs, maintain critical spare parts inventory, and oversee stock control.
• Validation & Implementation: Validate new equipment (FAT/IQ/OQ/PQ/SQ) and support cross-functional teams in designing and approving new product artwork.
• Facilities Management: Oversee company facilities and service level agreements (SLAs), ensuring efficient service provider management.
• Training & Support: Train maintenance staff and machine operators, including evening/night shifts, and provide production support under tight deadlines.
Required Skills and Experience:
• Strong knowledge of automated packaging equipment and production environments.
• Experience with CAMs, gear motors, drives, pulleys, and vision systems.
• Proficiency in troubleshooting and optimizing machine performance.
• Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies and reporting tools.
