New Opportunity: Retail Sales/Yard Assistant – Newport, Co. Tipperary
eFlexes is currently recruiting for a Retail Sales/Yard Assistant on behalf of our client based in Newport, Co. Tipperary. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a background or interest in agriculture and retail, who enjoys working in a hands-on and customer-facing environment.
Role Overview:
The Sales and Yard Assistant will be responsible for:

Maintaining a clean, organised, and efficient yard area.

Managing stock levels and coordinating deliveries in and out of the yard.
-
Loading products for customers and vendors both manually and using a forklift (where required).
-
Providing a high level of customer service and supporting sales in-store and in the yard.
Key Responsibilities:
-
Deliver excellent customer service in-person and over the phone.
-
Process sales transactions using the point-of-sale system.
-
Merchandise products in-store and in the yard to a high standard.
-
Receive and store deliveries promptly and accurately.
-
Ensure store and yard presentation is clean, safe, and customer-ready.

Support other store locations when required.

Regular manual handling of items including:
-
Bags (20-25kg) – e.g. coal, feed, cement.
-
Large items – e.g. fertilizer, concrete troughs (via forklift support).
-
Buckets (~15kg), drum barrels (5L–20L), boxes (5kg–25kg).

Agri/hardware goods – e.g. gates, pipes, wheelbarrows.
-
Team lifts and machine-supported lifts will be used where necessary.
Candidate Profile:
The ideal candidate will have:

Agricultural knowledge (essential).
-
Previous experience in agri or retail sectors (desirable).
-
Flexibility to work across both store and yard areas.
-
Valid forklift licence and experience operating forklifts (desirable).

A strong command of spoken and written English.
-
A proactive and customer-focused approach.
