This position is a key role within the organisation, responsible for planning material demand, forecasting, and optimizing inventory levels to support on-time delivery while minimizing stock holding. The role involves interacting with various teams and stakeholders across different manufacturing sites to ensure smooth operations and effective logistical support. Job Purpose:
The individual will collaborate with sales, operations, customer service, and other teams to forecast material demand, set safety stock levels, and optimize inventory. The role involves data analysis to ensure on-time delivery while minimizing stock levels.
Key Responsibilities:
- Demand Forecasting:
- Forecast product demand at SKU level using historical data and sales team inputs.
- Mathematical Modelling:
- Use linear modelling programs to forecast demand for blended products.
- Logistics Support:
- Assist with importing and exporting goods to/from suppliers.
- Material Monitoring:
- Track material deliveries and communicate delays to relevant departments.
- Production Support:
- Ensure timely delivery of consumables to avoid production delays.
- ERP Systems:
- Work within multiple ERP systems to manage data and workflows.
- Record Keeping:
- Maintain compliance with ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001 standards.
- Training & Development:
- Participate in training and contribute to the development of other staff.
- General Support:
- Support additional activities as necessary to ensure department success.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Business, Supply Chain, or Engineering preferred + 2 years relevant experience.
- Skills:
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and statistical skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced skills, including macros/VB).
- Familiarity with Python is an advantage.
- Additional Experience:
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings (GD&T).
- Demonstrated teamwork, leadership, and influence abilities.
- Results-oriented with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
